On January 17, 2026, Celeste’s U.S. passport card was found discarded in a remote area off State Route 154, near Lake Cachuma.

This was not just a random find. GPS data from David’s Tesla Model Y allegedly showed he had visited that exact isolated spot three separate times: April 23, May 8, and May 31, 2025.

A livestream has resurfaced where Celeste can reportedly be heard calling David a “predator.”

Even more disturbing, audio is currently circulating online where voices can allegedly be heard in the background of a video discussing “killing Celeste.”

A Timeline of Grooming and Control

According to the case information currently being reported, this was not a sudden tragedy. It was allegedly a years-long nightmare.

David allegedly met Celeste in January 2022, when she was 11 years old and he was 16.

By the time she turned 13, the relationship allegedly became sexual.

When Celeste’s parents tried to protect her by taking her phone away in early 2024, David allegedly drove to her hometown of Lake Elsinore and paid a junior high student $1,000 to deliver a secret phone to her so he could continue contacting her.

While Celeste was reported missing as a runaway, David was allegedly taking her to London, Texas, and Las Vegas, and had allegedly introduced her to his family.

The Night of the Homicide: April 23, 2025

At 8:40 p.m., David allegedly ordered an Uber to pick Celeste up from her home.

She arrived at his Hollywood Hills rental at 10:10 p.m.

Minutes later, her phone reportedly went dark forever.

Prosecutors allege David stabbed her multiple times and stood by while she bled out.

To allegedly create a false alibi, he began texting her dead phone at 10:30 p.m., asking, “Where are you?”

Prosecutors believe this was a calculated move to create a false timeline.

The very next morning, April 24, David reportedly went to a radio interview and attended an album release party as if nothing had happened.

Forensic Horror: “Victoria Mendez” and the Chainsaws

Using the fake name “Victoria Mendez,” David allegedly ordered a shovel, body bags, two chainsaws, and a blue inflatable pool from Amazon and Home Depot.

He allegedly placed Celeste’s body in the pool in his garage to contain the blood while he used the chainsaws to dismember her.

When her remains were found in his Tesla on September 8, 2025, they were reportedly in such bad condition that she weighed only 71 pounds.

Most heartbreakingly, Celeste had David’s name tattooed on her left ring finger.

When she was found, that finger, along with her pinky, had reportedly been surgically removed.

Prosecutors allege he tried to cut his own name off her body to hide the evidence.

Where the Case Stands: 40 Terabytes of Evidence

David Anthony Burke was arrested on April 16, 2026, and is being held without bail.

He faces charges including:

• First-Degree Murder, with special circumstances including lying in wait, financial gain, and murder of a witness.
• Continuous Sexual Abuse of a child under 14.
• Unlawful Mutilation of human remains.

The prosecution has handed over a massive 40 terabytes of digital data, including explicit photos and child sexual abuse material allegedly found on his iCloud.

The preliminary hearing is now set for June 29, 2026.
